What has saddened me with this election is the false rumors and hate being circulated via emails and websites - more about Obama than McCain. I receive emails almost daily touting Obama as a Commie, terrorist, Muslim, Anti-patriotic, not an official US citizen, and the list goes on. I find it sad that our society has stooped this low - on both sides of the fence. Many of these false (proven false) emails were forwarded to me by intelligent, successful, friends. My first thoughts are how can they believe these proven lies? Then I get concerned that if these intelligent, successful people believe it (and forward it), how many less educated people out there believe the lies.

The internet is a wonderful tool - in the right hands... it is also a weapon of mass destruction when in the wrong hands. I want the best candidate to win based on ideas, programs, vision... not because of lies, hate, and fear. These are strong emotions which are being expressed in unhealthy ways.

Based on verifiable facts, following the candidates, and hearing their positions and visions, I came off the fence and will vote for Obama/Biden ticket. McCain/Palin supporters are entitled to their views and opinions... just don't spew unfounded fear and lies... we are all better than that.
